The Bengals are still filling their staff under first-year head coach Zac Taylor.Right now, it appears Taylor has firmly zeroed in on Grantham as his defensive coordinator. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Grantham is back in Cincinnati today. The 52-year-old Grantham has only been at Florida for one season after coming over from Mississippi State with Dan Mullen. The Gators could be a top-10 program in 2019, but the lure of the NFL might prove too great for Grantham to resist.Sources: The #Bengals have narrowed their defensive coordinator search to focus on #Florida DC Todd Grantham, and he’s back in the building this morning. The only question is, can the #Bengals and new coach Zac Taylor pull him away from UF.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) February 13, 2019 Grantham has coached extensively in college and the NFL. He’s been the defensive coordinator at Florida, Mississippi State, Louisville and Georgia.Additionally, Grantham was the defensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns from 2005-07 and worked on staff with the Indianapolis Colts (1999-01), Houston Texans (2002-04) and Dallas Cowboys (2008-09).Grantham will either elect to join the Bengals or he’ll rebuff their offer to return to Gainesville. Considering he is back in Cincinnati today, it stands to reason this will be wrapped up soon.Stay tuned.
