I have served on the Chamber Council for the last 18 years and have played my part in directing the Chamber. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gerard Grant for the energy and time that he committed to this voluntary role and I will endeavour to carry out this role with the same enthusiasm and integrity. “I have taken over at a time when we have seen an improvement in the membership numbers and the finances of the Chamber and I will work this year to build on the good foundation left by the outgoing President. I view this role as a challenging one but also an excellent opportunity to work on behalf of Letterkenny businesses to ensure that we all get a better deal for Letterkenny and the North West and improve the business environment for all.”Brian added that as President of Letterkenny Chamber he will commit to representing the business community in whatever way he can.“We have over the last number of years developed our relationships with key stakeholders across Donegal and we will continue to keep pressure on our local Councillors and TDs to create the best environment for business here in the North West.“Over the next year, while we will take time to celebrate the Chamber’s 50th Anniversary, I will also be firmly focussed on membership numbers and sustainability of the Chamber.” Brian McCormick is no stranger to the position of Chamber President having carried out the role in 2006.The business environment and the Chamber has gone through major changes in the intervening years so while the role is similar there will be significantly different Challenges.Brian McCormick Sports & Leisure opened 20 years ago back in 1995 .
