first_img Tags: Coleman Barnes/Laura McLane/Robert Morris/Ryan McLane/Utah State University/VCU Rams August 1, 2018 /Sports News – Local Ryan McLane Promoted Within USU Athletic Department FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailLOGAN, Utah-Wednesday, Utah State University’s athletic department confirmed that Ryan McLane has been promoted to associate athletics director for marketing and promotions.This came per a statement from Deputy Athletics Director for Marketing and Promotions Coleman Barnes.Before this promotion, McLane had spent the previous two years as an assistant athletics director for marketing and promotions for the Aggies.McLane has also served as the assistant athletics director for marketing and promotions at Virginia Commonwealth University of Richmond, Va.While laboring for the Rams’ athletic department, McLane developed strategic marketing, advertising and sales campaigns which resulted in 48 consecutive home men’s basketball sellouts at VCU.His contributions also increased the average attendance for several other programs.McLane’s contributions for the Rams also entailed introducing new logos and brand identity for the 2013-14 athletic year.He also managed the athletics student support organization and the department’s kids club program while also supervising the spirit squad coaches and pep band director.McLane, a native of Pittsburgh, is a 2009 graduate of Robert Morris while he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.He completed a master’s degree at Oklahoma in 2011 and his wife, Laura McLane, is an assistant athletic trainer at Utah State.
